Day 42 (Sunday, July 23)

I woke up pretty early today and just laid inside my tent. I thought a lot about what I went through yesterday. It's refreshing going camping because it allows you to just think.

Of course, I thought a lot about all the little kids that I thought about yesterday. I am having fatherly-like needs. I want to have a baby. I want to be able to play around w/ my kids at the beach. I want to be a family man. To go camping w/ the gang and just relax out there. Man, I sure hope someday this dream comes true.

In the meantime, I enjoyed being an unmarried man w/o kids. Diego and I had breakfast and picked up camp. We threw everything onto the truck and got ready for the drive back to Chicago.

Before leaving, however, we went and hung out at the beach. It was pretty hot today, so being able to run into the cold water was nice.

The fun had to end, though. So, after spending quite a while at the beach, we decided to finally hit the road.

During the drive, I had to get my usual state-border photo.

I try to make each state photo unique. The Michigan photo is pretty simple to make unique. I am holding up my palm that way because if you look closely at the U.S. map, the geography of Michigan looks like a hand. It's pretty weird, but that's how a lot of people from Michigan talk about the location from where they are from. They put their palm up and point to the location where their town is. It's pretty reliable and convenient.

I must say that getting back into town was nice. It feels good to go home. However, there was still some day light and the sun was blazing hot when we got home. It almost made me feel like leaving again. I wasn't ready to be home. It's time to go back to reality.
