Day 58 (Tuesday, August 8)

Working for the Associated Press has truly been a cool experience. I am doing some of the things I never thought I would do. I often dreamed of doing them, but never actually thought I would. Not at least right out of college.

Today will always be remembered because today I shot Hillary R. Clinton. She's one of the coolest w/omyn I have ever heard give a speech. She was very charismatic. She was strong, poised and direct.

It was truly a good experience being able to make images of Mrs. Clinton.

Making images of her was much like shooting photos at a concert. There were so many people trying to get a photo of her. Most of the crowd was composed of people attending the convention where she spoke. I was able to get an escort beyond the tape that kept people back. That's how I was able to make some nice images of her. However, I was given three minutes to make my images. After that I was taken away so that other professional photographers had a chance to do their work. That's why I say this is much like a concert. Three minutes and you're out.

After my time was up, I waited around until the end of her speech when she was a little more real. She smiled and laughed as she enjoyed the standing ovation.

The day was pretty cool and the evening was just as nice.

I went home and took my usual after-work nap. Then I got up and finished my homework assignment for my online class. I had to write an essay and it took about five pages for me to get through everything I wanted to include in the essay. Man, I am sure going to miss homework assignments once I am completely done w/ school on Aug. 24.

After doing homework, I had a nice jog as the sun set. The colors in the sky were amazing. I couldn't get in touch w/ Kate, cuz it would have been a good time to go up on the roof and shoot some nice downtown action w/ the beautiful sun set.

I came home, cooked dinner. Relaxed, read. Watched television. Yes, I actually watched t.v. and then headed off to bed pretty early.

I had an amazing day. There weren't any worries on my mind whatsoever!
