Day 59 (Wednesday, August 9)
On Monday night I wrote that this is going to be a really good
week. I guess I was just getting into the zone at that moment
because this really has been a good week.
Monday night I didn't have a single worry. I hung out w/ my
set of new, true friends. I had great conversations w/ some
very interesting people, including an attractive 25-year-old
named Amber. I really was feeling positive that night, last
night and even tonight.
Today started out really cool. I was told by my coworker Charles
Rex Arbogast that my photo of Hillary R. Clinton made the Sun-Times
this morning.
I hate to brag, but let me tell you a little story about yesterday's
assignment. I had to wait about two hours before Mrs. Clinton
took the stage. During that time, I had a chance to talk to
all kinds of people. Some participants at the convention, some
organizers and even a Sun-Times staff photographer. The conversation
w/ the Sun-Times staffer was cool. Then Mrs. Clinton came out
to speak and we went to work. I'm not saying that the Sun-Times
photographer's images were bad. But it makes me feel real cool
that the newspaper used my photos instead of hers.
As y'all know, that's the second time that happens this summer.
So, I am definitely getting love over at the Sun-Times. It was
a nice way to start the day.

Today I continued to have some of the cool assignments that
I wrote about on Monday night. Today I got to shoot images of
three important Illinois people. Gubernatorial candidate Judy
Baar Topinka, Illinois Sen. Kirk Dillard and Chicago Mayor Richard
M. Daley.
See? I told you I was going to have an important week.

First, I went to make images at Mrs. Topinka's campaign headquarters
where she and Mr. Dillard spoke about some issues they have
w/ the Illinois courts.

Later, I went to City Hall where Mayor Daley talked about a
few things including the Sporting News naming Chicago as the
Best Sports City, "big box" ordinance and the city's
bid to host the Olympics.
The rest of the evening went well. I took my usual after-work
nap, went jogging and cooked in the outside grill w/ Diego.
I got a little bit of studying and reading done, so that felt
good, too.
It's nice to mix important work, a good workout and relaxation
in one day. Life's good. Real good!
