Day 60 (Thursday, August 10)

Tonight I couldn't have asked for a better assignment. I shot
the Yankees at White Sox baseball game at U.S. Cellular Field.
Being at the game was perfect because I had been wanting to
see the Yankees. I didn't get a chance to go to a Yankees game
during my stay in New York last week. So, the fact that I got
to shoot them tonight made up for it.
There was, however, a 1-hour, 26-minute rain delay before the
start of the game. The rain was coming down pretty hard so the
game did not start until late. During the down time, I looked
around for weather features.
I shot some images and walked down the tunnel next to the dugout
toward the photo dark room. As I walked by the visitor's lockerroom,
the door open. It was no other than Alex Rodriguez.
It was really weird seeing him because the minute I saw him
I did not change my way. I looked at him for a brief second
and continue walking toward the dark room. I guess I am becoming
pretty immune to seeing big-name people. I did not think much
of seeing A-Rod. I just saw him and continue my journey. Kind
of odd.

Once the game got started it was good. There weren't too many
action shots, but I was able to get this first-inning sliding
catch.

Later, White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen got thrown out of the
game by the first base umpire. Ozzie was not going to go down
quiet. He told the "blue" a few things and I was able
to get some nice shots of this key moment in the game.

I got a chance to use the big boy lens today. Woohoo. It's
always fun to use the big lens. It allows one to get some nice
shots.
Being at the stadium was nice. Now I have another stadium to
add to the list of places where I worked. Cool!
