Day 61 (Friday, August 11)

If last night's game wasn't enough for me, today I got a chance to make up.

Again, I was sent out to the White Sox baseball game where the team started a weekend series against the first-place Tigers. These two teams have quite a rivalry, so it was nice to see how people in Chicago get about their team.

I focused on getting some photos that told the story of the game. Contreras pitched a three-hit shutout, so the above photo was key. The first photo is of Thome hitting a home run. That was also part of the story.

Man, I really can't believe the work week is over. This week was a nice follow up to last week, which I still believe is among the best weeks of the year. I met some important politicians, covered a Div. I football team practice and shot the World Series Champion White Sox. What else can a starting photojournalist ask for?

... Oh yeah, a staff position.
