Day 69 (Saturday, August 19)
So I've spent a lot of time at the church lately. That's good.
I need to be around here just in case something happens.
Since I built such a strong connection w/ the activist groups
and Elvira Arellano, I have been spending the night. Everyone
seems to be on the idea that officials are going to come in
during the night and take her away.
If that was to happen, I need to be there. So, what better
way to be ready, than by listening to the radio chatter among
Pueblo Sin Fronteras members while sitting right outside of
Elvira Arellano's room?

Above you can see my post. I have slept there the last couple
of days as I make sure I am ready for anything that happens
overnight.
Obviously, spending a lot of time on this assignment this week
has drew me away from other things. One of the main things that
I should be focusing on is the online course I am taking to
gain the final two units for my degree. I have two weeks left
in that course, once
I earn the units, I will have my degree. Woohoo!
However, since I slacked off I went home in the morning and
started catching up on the essay and chapter questions that
were due this week. Thankfully, I had enough rest (in spite
sleeping on that chair) to be able to finish the school work.
I relaxed for a little bit and then I went out. I had to change
up the scenery in order to go back to the church w/ a fresh
approach. So, what better way to recharge batteries than by
hanging out w/ some cool people.
I met w/ Anna and Antje, two beautiful German ladies who are
interning w/ a major German airline at a local airport. We went
to the River East Museum where we saw a pretty cool collection
of photographs.
The images were all of the mile-long Berlin Wall that is still
up. The photos were of the east side where you can see the graffiti
and other art concepts on the wall.
More than 300 photos were used to make a long stretch of images
showing what the Berlin Wall art looks like.
After the museum, we went home and got ready for dinner. Kiara,
one of Diego's good friend, cooked us some really cool food.
Kiara, an Italian w/omyn w/ an amazing appreciation for art,
cooked us a real nice Italian dinner. Meanwhile Hiro, also a
good friend of Diego, brought a really good Japanese dish that
was comprised of some very delicious salmon. I left Kiara's
house stuffed.

On our way out, I saw a van that had a cool display of Cookie
Monsters. I was impressed by the van's display. Then I began
to wonder, who else in this world is as crazy as me to be putting
so much emphasis on a Cookie Monster? I wonder if they were
cool and what they looked like. Could this be a cute Cookie
Monster girl? Hmmm....
After dinner we headed out to our usual spot on Saturday nights:
Xippo Lounge. As always, had a great time.
