Day 56 (Sun., Nov. 6)

Going out last night made me get out of the routine and I was excited as I headed toward Miami Arena to cover the Spanish rock concert featuring Molotov. I got there and it was a huge disappointment. The band cancelled. Turns out the band had problems w/ the promoting company and never got paid for the event, so they backed out and they are now suing.

Man, what a let down. I was so excited to see them. But I am on the list of media people for their concert in Orlando on Tuesday, so I guess I can't cry about it.

Then again, the promoting company was able to come through on another performer: Gloria Trevi. She showed up and danced and did a mock strip-tease as she did all kinds of crazy moves. She started w/ her famous "Zapatos Viejos" song and finished w/ the hit that mad her famous: "Pelo Suelto".

It was a fun night, but the over all feeling was that of disappointment. The parking lot was empty, people turned away and went home when they found out Molotov was going to be absent. It really sucked. For me, it was just another day at work. But it would have been nice to shoot Molotov today.

Instead, I shot one of the most controversial performers in Mexico right now. It was her first-ever performance in Miami, so that was very cool. Trevi was in jail for a while and her actions are still questionable. I wasn't too excited to shoot her, but it was my job so I had to do it. Then again, it all seems like a huge let down when you are promised top-notch Molotov and you get nothing. Oh well. Being a fan, I got to feel what most fans felt when they found out this. Boooooooooooooo!!!!!
