Day 73 (Weds., Nov. 23)
The harsh reality hit me. The snowbirds are finally here in
South Florida. I have been told over and over by locals that
during the winter there is a lot of people from Canada and North
East United States who come down to the warm Florida weather.
They told me the streets will be filled w/ cars from all over
the place. In fact, tonight when I drove home from work, I saw
14 out of state license plates in a six-mile span. Wow.
Well, since there are a lot of out-of-towners around, traffic
is amazingly crazy now. I didn't realize that I now have to
leave for assignments way early. So, today when I went to an
assignment in Parkland, which is about 25 minutes away from
the office, I decided to leave early just in case of traffic.
I left 45 minutes before I had to be in Parkland. Well, turns
out I got there 25 minutes after I had to be there. I was late
and I couldn't do my assignment. That was a shame. And a harsh
way to see how much more people are around here these days.
It was a lesson that I learned the hard way. Boooo!!!!
