Day 14 (Tues., June 21)

Today was a light day. I worked four hours in the morning then
headed home for a long nap. There was not much going on and
I was given the time to go home. Man, that time came in handy.
I have not yet caught up on my sleep from last week's internship
and I am dragging right now. I got tomorrow off. So, I think
I am on my way to a full energy recovery.
I started the day by going over to follow Crystal Goodman,
a local artist. She's working on San Angelo's third historic
mural. It was fun hanging out with her as she allowed me to
go up on her platform and shoot her. As you know, I like to
look for different angles and I had fun when climbing on the
side of the building to get to the roof for a better angle.
I headed home after a short four-hour shift. I think I slept
for about 1.5 hours when the pager went off with a "grass
fire out of control" message. I decided that it was a good
idea to go test out this new regained energy. I went out there,
but by the time I got to the location the fire was under control
and there was not much to shoot but burnt grass. I wish I had
a good fire photo for y'all. Maybe next time.
