Day 25 (Sat., July 2)
Wow. Talk about a long day. Today was pretty long. I had to
do a split shift and cover two events. The morning event was
really cool. I shot a patriotic dog parade. I shot the above
photo while thinking a little outside of the box. Yeah, yeah.
I try to think outside of the box, as you already know. While
at the parade, I tried to take in the sights and sounds and
come up with a way of showing that through a photo. I saw a
lot of big dogs that were very relaxed and quiet. I saw a bunch
of small doggies that were loud. So, with that in mind, I shot
the above photo. It's a small dog w/ a big shadow. Kind of the
way you see cartoons sometimes. You see the shadow of a big
scary creature on the wall, when you actually see the creature,
it's a tiny thing. That's what I tried to do w/ this photo.
The small doggies' barks made them seem like giants. The shadow
helps portray that.

I also shot the above photo because I love the movement, the
composition and the moment. It's a pretty funny moment during
the parade.
After the doggie parade, I headed home to relax. Later tonight,
I headed out to the Stampede's final game of the season. It
was cool shooting it because I had two assignments in one. First,
the game action. Later, the feelings and sights of the players
as they ended the season.

I love the photo above because it's so pretty. Not just because
the little girl's eyes are beautiful, but the fact that she's
all amazed at the sight of the football player. It shows you
that even though this is minor league pro football, there are
those who live by this life, not just the players.

There was a lot of laughs after the game. Laughs from fans
(above) and from the players in the lockeroom (below).

These football players are really cool. After I was done shooting,
I went home to change and headed out to Grahams, a local night
hangout spot. There, I hooked up w/ the footballers and talked
for a little bit. It was cool hanging out w/ them as they are
just like anyone else, the only thing that is they bang and
jump on each other for a living.
