Day 26 (Sun., July 3)

It's July 3rd and I am pretty happy. Happy like never before. Today is a big day for me. It's my birthdate. Not only because I have 31 birthdates this month, as I mentioned on Friday, but because July 3rd means a lot to me. My favorite number is 3. So, July 3 is a pretty cool day.

Today was pretty simple: go out and shoot the town's 4th of July celebration. It's held every year on July 3rd. I say it was a pretty simple day because all I had to do was find the photos that showed what being patriotic in San Angelo looks like. Today's photo entry tells you that. Beautiful people, proud and loud, showed up to celebrate America, oops, I mean the United States. I don't agree that the United States is America, the United States is the United States of America. And 4th of July celebrations are great United States of America traditions but not American overall. I say that because not all the other countries in America know or care about 4th of July. So, this people came out to celebrate the United States of America today.

I worked a long day shooting the events. I was so excited to shoot the firework display as many people kept on telling me that San Angelo has the second-best fireworks in the state. A little over-hyped, I thought, once the actual show started. I wish I had photos of the fireworks, but they weren't much of a sight and no good photos came out. Don't blame the firework technicians. Blame me, I should have made a good firework photo inspite the lackluster show. Oh well, I lived and I learned.
