Texas Journal -- Part II:
Standard-Times Internship

Day 48 (Mon., July 25)

Photography is a lot of work. Some people think that all you gotta do is shoot the photo and then you're done. Well, there's so much that goes into it. The biggest part of photography is workflow. What I mean by that is the way you archive your photos and have an organized way of filing your photos away for future reference.

Today was sort of a workflow day. It had nothing to do w/ photography, though. I have 14 home video tapes that I have been meaning to arrange. Today, I spent most of the day going through each video and writing down what each video has in it. 12 of these videos were shot in the course of the last 14 months. It was really cool going back to see what I have been up to. It was also weird. To see the behavioral changes that I have been exposed to in the last year was amazing. Some great memories. Yet, that's all they are memories. At least I can look back at those times from time to time and know that at that precise moment I was were I wanted to be. Things have happened in the past eight months and they are good to think about -- sometimes.

I wrote a lot today at work. Part of the project that I am working on this summer involves some writing. Since today was a day to remember the past, it was a good way to remember my past as a reporter. It was cool writing the story that I have been working on these past three weeks. It's now in the polishing phase. So, pretty soon I will be sharing w/ y'all this cool experience and great story.
