Day 50 (Weds., July 27)

I knew I would be able to see new things in trying to become
a photographer. So far, as an intern, I am getting a taste of
what that will be like.
This morning I met the next Lance Armstrong. Jack Clarke turned
16 on Monday. Two days before that he won a major race in which
he beat last year's Texas Cup champion in the 62-mile race.
I woke up pretty early and went out to his house and followed
him through his morning work out. It was fun.

Oh yeah that was fun. I followed that by doing something even
more exciting. I hand-fed a reindeer. Yes, that's right! I drove
out 65 miles west of San Angelo to T-Bone Ranch, the 3,400-acre
ranch owned by oil company owner Travis Goree. I got a chance
to follow Mr. Goree as he fed his exotic animals. There was
all kinds of cool animals there. Four different types of reindeer,
six zebras, llamas, buffalo, miniature horses and cows, Scottish
hylanders and camels. The place was so amazing. Here are some
photos of what I saw there:

Reindeer love to pose for their photo.

Although zebras were a lil jumpy at might sight, they still
got close to me.

The newest addition to the collection: camels.

Mr. Goree and his llamas.
As we were finishing up the coolest thing happened. A grasshopper
(chapulin) landed on the windshield of the truck. Lately, chapulines
have found their way into my life. I wonder if it's some kind
of sign.
Today was totally amazing. I am so grateful. How many people
can say they hand-fed a reindeer at work that day?
