Day 4 (Weds., June 2)

Today when I walked into the office and showed Al Dia Photo Editor
Roberto Sanchez my photo, he wondered why we didn't run it. A
similar photo to mine ran on the front page of the newspaper,
but it featured only a dark, scary-looking sky. My image was produced
close to midnight and the Al Dia press starts running at 9:30,
so that's why. If you look closely at yesterday's photo, you will
see that there is a lot of distracting things like telephone/power
wires. So when Roberto Sanchez told me that it would have been
nice not to have them, my goal was to redeem myself and produce
a better image. Today, Sal and I got on his Explorer and drove
around the city looking for the perfect angle. We found it in
Oak Cliff at the Methodist Medical Center. From the top level
of its parking structure, this image was made. Today's assignment
was going to the Fort Worth Independent School District's Hiring
Fair. It was a great experience being that Sal and I were sent
together to do the story and photo. The following photo is what
will run in tomorrow's paper:

Fort Worth Independent School District Tuesday during the FWISD's
Hiring Fair at the Exhibits Hall of the Will Rogers Memorial
Center.
Also, while working on the Hiring Fair photo, I bumped into
this funny scene and could not resist to drive back to the office
without stopping to get a photo.

her steer "Buck" to a stable at the Will Rogers Memorial
Center Tuesday. Pack is in town for this weekend's Texas Longhorn
Breeders Association of America World Show, which runs through
Sunday.
