Day 5 (Thurs., June 3)

Elementary School in Arlington. Sara Mapela, a food specialist
with the Arlington Independent School District, prepares their
meal.
Work, work, work. I love it. I came here to work and work is
what I am doing. Today, I visited the town of Arlington (most
people know about Arlington because it's the home of the Texas
Rangers professional baseball club). First assignment (above)
was to shoot kids eating during lunch as part of a free meals
program by the Department of Agriculture. The second assignment
(below) was to go to the League of United Latin American Citizen's
convention. Both assignments kept me busy and I had a chance
to visit Arlington. This place seems fun. There's Six Flags,
Hurricane Harbor and the Texas Rangers. I bet I will be spending
a few days off here. Today was cool. I had the two assigments,
went home to cook a nice meal (I think it was nice, well at
least it wasn't poisonous because neither did Sal or I pass
out). After, we headed the Coconut Island Grill, where we met
up with a few of the other interns. It was the first time I
met them and they seem real fun. Especially Lynn (a graduate
of Oklahoma Sooners, who is doing a lay-out internship) and
Jay (a University of Maryland student doing reporting). Both
seem cool and I can't wait to meet the rest of the crew.
