culture and music.
The things one must do a journalist. Just ask Salvador (pictured
on bottom photo). Today, on my day off, I volunteered to do
the assignment at City Hall. It was the Grand Fiesta Dallas,
a Latino event featuring food, culture and music. The event
has been held in Fort Worth before, but it was the first time
in Dallas. So, when I heard about the event, I figured I would
be there anyways, so I volunteered. Once I found out who the
headliner was (Ninel Conde), I was more determined to go do
this assignment. Ninel was scheduled to go on stage at 7:45
p.m., but didn't until 9:45, so that gave me a big chance to
get to know the people of Dallas. They are very friendly and
they are easy to interview. I haven't had too much trouble obtaining
a name to I.D. the persons in my photos. That's always nice
because u hate to have a great photo, but the person turns down
your request for their name. I love the photo of the old lady
cheering (bottom) at the concert. She was very funny, lively
and nice. She's from Mexico D.F. (where I was born), so maybe
that's why I liked her so much. Today was lazy day in the morning.
Having gone to the club on Friday, I woke up late, rested. Cleaned
up the house, man I needed to get my dishes done. I don't believe
in the dishwasher, so I do all dishes by hand. I just don't
think the dishwasher's going to do a good job. Other than that,
I just relaxed at home and waited til the evening when I headed
out to the event.

Fiesta Dallas, a Latino celebration of food, culture and music.

Caption: Salvador Hernandez (right) shows how
hard it is to be a journalist. He must slave himself to work
in order to get a chance to interview the very attractive singer
Ninel Conde. It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it.
