Day 15 (Sun., June 13)

If you are a frequent reader of JulyThePhotoGuy, you know I'm spontaneous. Or I try to be. Today was one of those days. I woke up and headed into the office to file my photos from last night's concert at City Hall Plaza. When I get there, they throw an assignment at me; and I totally did not mind. I had to go hang out with soccer fans at a bar and make photos of what happened there. It was the Mexican Soccer League summer championship game between Pumas and Chivas. Personally, I do not like either team as I am a big Club America fan. So I was very neutral on whom I wish to be the champion. However, I was on the job and no cheering is allowed, so the feelings about the game weren't there. The Univision T.V. cameraman came in wearing a Pumas shirt, which I thought to be a bad choice. Later, it proved to work against him as Chivas lost and fans were reluctant to talk to him. I am a strong believer of the phrase "no cheering in the pressbox", so I think he got what he disserved. Anyways, so I worked on the assignment and headed home. I had an important date. Most of the interns were meeting down on the North-side pool at the Seville, the home of most interns. Hung out with a few interns there and I was able to work on a special intern project I'm working on this summer -- more on that later this summer. The pool party ended early for me as I went out to shoot another championship soccer game. Brazil played Bolivia and won 3-1 in the Masters World Cup at Jesuit High School. If you remember, I was at that tournament's first round games on Day 6 and Day 8 of the internship. Today was the final and the photo at the bottom was what I came back with. I'm closing out the second week of my summer internship and I have lots of memories already. This is turning out to be better than I expected; and the expectations were already very high. Keep reading to see what the upcoming week's got in store.

Koehler eventually scored on the play to give Brazil a 3-1 lead with less than a minute to play. Brazil won by that score to crown itself.
