Al Dia Internship

Day 23 (Mon., June 21)

Every evening, the newsroom is treated to a show of "Buscando Amor" ("Looking for Love"), a dating show that airs on one of the Spanish channels.

I was off today and I have to say it was fun relaxing. However, I felt like going to work. Call me crazy, but I love to work. Especially at a place where I feel needed and appreciated. The Al Dia staff is very nice and being in the newsroom makes me comfortable. I can ask questions, get answers and relate to the members of the staff. I have to say that when the internship is over, I will miss the staff and the newsroom. I already have many memories of the newsroom. Like the first time Sal and I walked in. It was nerve-wrecking. But the staff made us feel very welcomed. I think one of the funniest memories (and I hope that in the next 9 weeks I can come up with more) will be the scene at around 6 p.m. After the evening news on the Spanish channel, a dating show entiled "Buscando Amor" ("Looking for Love") goes on. This show is very provocative and graphic. However, because the staff is busy doing their work -- since we have a relatively early deadline -- the staff usually forgets about what's going on t.v. screen. And so, this show goes on and no one seems to notice. Sal brought this up two weeks ago, and it's funny how every weekday that t.v. has this show on. It's a t.v. show, so it's not something you would have to change the channel to. But, it sure is a funny scene.
