Dallas, Texas Journal:
Al Dia Internship

Day 30 (Mon., June 28)

Having a second day off is so good! Today, I started the day by doing something that I have been wanting to do for a while: cook something new. So, I decided to be a little risky and cook something that I have never cooked before. Above is a pic of my finished product in my kitchen: CHURROS. If you have never heard of Churros, you are missing out. You can get them at the state fair, the carnival, and also at Disneyland. They are a Mexican dish that is great for dessert. I had no idea how people made them. But today, after learning how to make them, I consider myself a veteran Churro maker. I was thinking of inviting over some of the other interns to have them try them. However, since it's Monday, all of them were working. Churros are meant to be eaten right off the stove. Warm Churros are the best. So, I ate some and finished the batch when I got back from going out. Sorry interns, you're gonna have to wait til I make them again so you can taste them. Today was very exciting. I picked up Al Dia at the news stand and noticed something really exciting. The two sections printed (pictured below) featured my photos as the main photo on the front pages. I have been printed in the front page as the lead photo, but I had never had a double-whammy like today. So, I'm happy!
