Day 34 (Fri., July 2)

Today was a cause for celebration. The above photo is a zoom-effect
photo taken of an www.aldiatx.com
cake we had a the office today. The cause for celebration: our
web site received a prestigious award. Of the news-providing
web sites entered into a contest, www.aldiatx.com
was chosen as the best in its division. There are two categories;
either above or below the 200,000-publication rate. On the lower
division, we were the best out there. So, today we celebrated
in the office with a luau-style festivity.
OK, I know I have been putting a lot of photos of Salvador
on the web site. Most of the them with beautiful women surrounding
him. What can I say? I just feel proud of knowing such a "ladies
man". In fact, when we left California, I knew that somehow
I was going to see Salvador get laid in Texas... OK, hold it
right there. What type of laid are you thinking of? Man, if
I know how people's minds work, I can almost guess what ya'll
(as they say in Texas) are thinking. Don't be sick-minded. Remember,
I was talking about a "luau", so, of course, Salvador
was going to get laid -- as in wearing a lai as pictured below:

Sick-minded people!!!! How can you think wrong of good-hearted
Sal -- or "the Salamander" as he is known around the
intern community.
I know, I know. That was a low blow. Sorry for putting you
on the spot so much Sal. If it makes any of ya'll feel better.
Salvador, took the following picture of me while I was acting
as if I was busy (actually, I think I was just checking my e-mail).
But here's the chance for Sal, or any of ya'll, to get revenge.
Whoever comes up with the best caption for the following photo,
gets a complimentary meal at Whataburger from me; and a chance
for your caption to be included under the photo. So, e-mail
me these clever captions and let the wittiest win.

Finally, today was the first of a three-consecutive-day series
of firework photography. I went to the City of Garland's Star
Spangled Fourth celebration to shoot their fireworks. It was
a fun experience being that the Garland Police was very helpful
in making my photos happen. I was able to get access to the
rooftop of their building and shoot the following photo from
there. Besides last Saturday, when I
shot the lacer and firework show in Fort Worth, I had never
shot fireworks before. So, this is quite the learning experience.
I hope the little I learned today helps me in tomorrow and Sunday's
firework photography. Keep posted for that.
