Internship
Day 47 (Thurs., July 15)

When it comes to working in the journalism field, you have
to swallow your pride. You have to forget about your personal
issues and cover the event at hand without any bias. This is
a hard thing to do, but I believe that is the only way you can
do your work without getting in trouble. Today I had to swallow
my pride. I HATE BOXING! I hate it for what it's worth! I really
don't like whole idea of two sweaty persons rubbing all on each
other while trying to punch each other for the benefit of entertaining
other people and, of course, for the benefit of the $$$$$. I
had not shot boxing for that reason. However, being that I am
trying to become a well-rounded photographer, I had to swallow
that pride and forget about my issues before heading out to
the arena. The two photos on this page show what kind of work
I did on my first try at shooting boxing. Not bad, huh? One
would think that I had shot boxing before because I got these
photos. But, I guess when you are used to shooting other sports,
you can just adapt those tactics to boxing and you find yourself
dishing out a good boxing photo. Hence, not getting fired for
sucking at this photography deal and being able to work through
something I don't really believe in. Anyways. I hope you like
these photos of men trying to be "cool" by kicking
each other's butts!
