Al Dia Internship

Day 71 (Sun., Aug. 8)

It's almost time for the summer internship to be over. Today we gathered at Jamie and Emily's apartment to have our final potluck together. Nina's final day was Friday and she will be going back to her regular life as a Temple University student. Meanwhile, some of us get to stay behind for a little longer. But today capped the end of the complete intern group life. With one of us gone, it's not the same.

During the potluck I showed a portion of the video that I have been shooting all summer long. Some interns had forgotten about the video and got caught off guard when they saw themselves saying and doing things they couldn't remember. Overall, it was a great experience. I cooked, just like the other potlucks. I made California-style Enchiladas. You know, the kind that you can buy at Baja Fresh. I learned to cook them while working as a manager at Sharky's in Northridge about five years ago. I cooked them and the interns gave me great feedback. I am glad I was able to contribute with something for their pleasure. Or, maybe I am just glad that they were nice enough to say they liked it while maybe the food was horrible. Anyways, good times.
