Internship
Day 73 (Tues., Aug. 10)

I had to enterprise today. When I got to the office, there
were no assignments for me. I was so "laxed" -- haha,
remember that word and where I got it from? -- that I couldn't
just sit around the office and wait for something to happen.
So, I decided it would be a great day to go hunt for a nice
photo. I came back with these two photos. The photo above is
that of an egret at a local lake called White Rock Lake. The
bottom photo is the Reunion Arena Tower in downtown and it was
taken as I was walking into the Dallas Morning News building
after I came back from my feature hunting. I guess sometimes
you don't have to look far from the office to see a good photo.
Anyways. That's about it. Not much today. Oh yeah, I was part
of the DMN sports department softball team tonight. Wow, I can't
believe I sucked so bad tonight. I haven't played ball in a
long time, let alone play ball in the evening. I knew I was
in for a rough night when I let my first grounder go right through
my legs. Woops. Oh well, it was my first time back on the diamond
after a long absence. It's now time to improve. It also didn't
help that I did not know anyone on the team. I met everyone
there for the first time tonight, and despite working in the
same building, I had never had a chance to meet the guys. I
guess the first-game getters are now over with, so I expect
-- actually, I guarantee -- that next week, I will redeem myself.
