Day 3 (Thursday Sept. 9)

I told you today was going to be jam-packed. Before I go on, though. I have to show you tonight's awesome photo:

Not that you haven't seen that photo, since it's on my opening page, but I just love it. I have seen a different version of this photo, but I never thought I would have my own version. I hope you like it.

So, as I was saying. Today was very busy. I went to a lot of workshops and took photos for the publication. I was trying to be creative as the only thing going on at these workshops was a presenter speaking to a crowd. Not much room to be creative. However, I came out with the following photo at one of the workshops.

They ran out of room to sit as there weren't enough chairs at one of the conference rooms. So, a few students sat on the counter. On this photo, I am under the counter shooting a guy as he hangs his feet. Now, that's what I call fun.

At the dinner for the convention, they had a huge flag. I wanted to be creative and came out with the photo above of a man eating dinner. Wish I had a good image with him putting food in his mouth. However, since it's a shadow, it doesn't seem like he's eating and you can't tell it's a person. So, this is the best attempt at that.

You can't go to New York and not eat hot dogs. That's what the makers of the SPJ reception dinner thought. So, they offered hot dogs, pretzels and pop corn for dinner.

Once on the boat, the photo ops were great. That's where I shot the photo of the twin towers memorial. I also shot the above photo of the Statue of Liberty. Great experience but lots of work. I was ready to go to my first assignment at 8 a.m. and I didn't finish with my last meeting until 11:30 at night. Now, that's what I call work. I love it.
